Ulam Raja (Cosmos Caudatus)

Ulam Raja, literally meaning "the king's salad", was brought by the Spaniards from Latin America, via the Philippines, to the rest of Southeast Asia. Ulam, a Malay word used to describe a preparation that combines of raw eaten vegitables, medicine and beauty. It is widely popular Malay herbal salad. As a Malaysian delight, it is served throughout the country from major hotels for tourist to buffets or dinners for the locals.

It constitutes as one of the common raw plant leaves eaten a salad like form, called Ulam by Malay. Normally eaten with Malay's Sambal Belacan. When crushed, the leaves emit an odor that is reminiscent of young mango.

It is also considered as a medicinal herbs which is believed to possess the ability to cleanse the blood and strengthen bones due to its high calcium content.

Bukit Putus

Inilah jalan yang menghubungkan Kuala Pilah dan Seremban, selain jalan bukit putus lama yang berliku-liku. Perjalanan semakin selesa diantara kedua bandar tersebut. Tetapi tunggulah ketika musim perayaan yang bakal tiba tidak lama lagi ini. Sebelum hari raya, jalan menuju ke Kuala Pilah akan menjadi sesak dan padat dengan kereta mereka yang ingin berhari raya bersama keluarga.

Selepasa hari raya pula tunggulah bagaimana sesaknya kenderaan menghala ke Seremban semula, bayangkan perjalanan yang cuma mengambil masa 30 minit boleh menjadi 4 jam. Bagi mereka yang tahu jalan lain boleh la menggunakan jalan Simpang Pertang - Jelebu. 

Berbuka Puasa

Hari ke 11 berpuasa dan hari ke 7 berbuka puasa di T6, hari ni nampak macam ada menu special sikit la. Lauk specialnya cuma ada terubuk bakar cicah air asam dan sapa2 yang nak lain sket ada budu sekali.

Sedang menunggu dengan penuh kesabaran azan maghrib berkumandang untuk berbuka puasa, kat tengah2 tu lauk yang special sket, ikan terubuk bakar dengan kuah asam. Air hari ni x berapa menarik, x ada pulak air cincau hari ni. 

 Pekerja dewan makan(galley) yang telah bertungkus lumus menyediakan juadah berbuka setiap hari, terutamanya jejaka berbaju putih tersebut(abang Mokhtar) sebagai tukang masak utama dalam penyediaan juadah berbuka puasa.

Itu dia siterubuk bakar dengan dibasihi oleh kuah air asam.

This photo have been taken long time ago, haven't remember when but couple of years back. Will update with the latest flower shoots later.

Rigging Up

New episode started again, new place have been set up once again. Tough job started once more time at new place, it was tough because we have to rigging up during Ramadhan, have to fasting for the whole day we really miss the syrup rose cordial at the rig floor during this time.

We started rigging up at Suriya A platform after finished the Bumi A platform on 22 July. Arrived on Suriya A platform on 5th August with 2 more friends, Eswadi and Maiza. Nothing much to do for the first day, nobody from third party(service company) allowed to go to the platform, since the barge not in the drilling position yet, still working with the anchors.

Second day start working all out, working like a dog for all day long, still fasting, alhamdulillah. Almost 50% done by end of the day. After breaking fast, continued some more job and finished the shift around 11pm. Third day continued rigging up and by end of the day almost done hook up all the sensor and run the cable, just wait for the unit re-position before hook all the data cable into the DLS box inside the unit.

Thats it, another episode of the Mudlogging job before start the real job on the drilling.
